I am so happy!! We had a small dream become a reality this past weekend. I have wanted a herb garden for ages. We worked this past weekend with a young builder friend and made my dream come true! I love cooking with fresh herbs, but I tried to raise them in the veggie garden (also a flop) but the chickens ate EVERYTHING! Now, we are putting it off the other side of the house where the chickens can't get to them!! Now to keep the bunnies and birds out!! This is our before pic...




Within a few hours, we made heaps of progress, I want the herbs to be reachable from the decks and we are working toward that! I want them on both sides of the steps and bottom deck...  We decided the one side is good for now and I don't want to feel cramped in on the steps. I love the finished product. I will move my rhubarb and get the herbs in this week!!! 
 



Our two day project, DONE in one day! I love it when that happens! Oh! And I need to get more dirt! Can't wait for those fresh herbs and my rhubarb...maybe even some strawberries, things that don't take much space to grow.



Now back to designing, cutting and sewing! I will be leaving soon and WANT to get a bit more done as I won't be sewing for a week!

    Looks great. Jealous. I have a brown thumb and cannot grow anything. Have fun. You deserve to have your dreams come true.

      We ALL deserve to have our dreams come true...usually I do have a brown thumb, but I do herbs pretty good!

    Wow, looks fantastic. I love gardening. My favourite is cherry tomatoes. Yum. I also have a small herb garden and love that too. Each morning I would go out and snip off some fresh chives and add to my omelet 😁

      That's why I wanted my herb garden... I love to try new recipes and this is going to make it way more fun!

Mystery Quilts Anonymous With all the feedback from yesterday's blog, I just wanted to give you a bit more info to ponder and think on. Firstly, I need to be honest, since our beginning I have given this group and it's members 1,000 percent of myself and my designs. I make NO money off the patterns and time spent. I want to keep the patterns free. I love that so many can make them and love them. I feel we have so much talent out there and I love tapping into that talent and providing patterns you love. I have been trying to think of other ways to make a little money for my "work". SO, I am thinking I will start a "real" blog and use the advertising as a source of income so the patterns and our facebook page remain free. Choosing Fabrics, Not Everyone’s Favourite!

Mystery Quilts Anonymous Sometimes my favourite part, sometimes a chore...picking fabrics and colours can be fun and rewarding. I have a pretty good sized stash, but do we ever really have that PERFECT match that we want unless we’ve bought the entire line??  I know there are those who won’t use one manufacturer with a different manufacturer in the same quilt, I truly don’t have that option. Fabric where I live is quite expensive ($35+ per metre) so I have to mix manufacturers all the time. Although, I will only use 100% cotton in my quilts. I will also use flannel and shirting, as long as it’s 100% cotton. I don’t like to mix flannel and quilting cotton as they shrink at different rates.   Here are two examples of a couple of quilts I have on the drawing board.
