Just a Little About Me

I am a wife, mum, nana, and crafter. I truly enjoy designing mystery quilts and teddy bears. I find that all my "spare time" is filled with my family, fur babies, and sewing of some sort. I've actually just added a new "hobby" to my resume! I have just gotten all the tools to start designing women's clothing, modest but trendy! Can't wait to get started with that as well! I hope you enjoy mysteries as much as I do. I can't help but design and sew!  

I am an American living in New Zealand. We have been here off and on since 1992 and boy do we love it....and more on than off!! The beauty of New Zealand is an inspiration each day to sew something new!

I am the heart of Mystery Quilts Anonymous and I guess that makes me responsible for what goes on around here. YOU make my job (not really) so much fun and rewarding.

 Now, after over a year at this, nothing can be more fun. We are pushing 5,000 members strong and have completed over 25 quilts in that time! I enjoy my time with you even more now. I am obsessed with our group!

    I thought the same thing as Paula, then I thought back to when I was younger. About 5 years ago after bouts with health problems I complained that It took me a week to do a days work. Both my middle daughter and a friend answered me with " That isn't so bad - you used to do 5 days work in a day!" Debi, you sound so much like I used to be. I just love all your ideas!

Mystery Quilts Anonymous With all the feedback from yesterday's blog, I just wanted to give you a bit more info to ponder and think on. Firstly, I need to be honest, since our beginning I have given this group and it's members 1,000 percent of myself and my designs. I make NO money off the patterns and time spent. I want to keep the patterns free. I love that so many can make them and love them. I feel we have so much talent out there and I love tapping into that talent and providing patterns you love. I have been trying to think of other ways to make a little money for my "work". SO, I am thinking I will start a "real" blog and use the advertising as a source of income so the patterns and our facebook page remain free. Mystery Quilts Anonymous   I have been in contact with a number of fabric manufacturers and I wanted your opinion on something... I am wondering if you think I should offer kits for our mysteries. If I offered something like that, would you purchase the kit or would you order your own fabrics? I would organise the kit with the manufacturer and you would order direct from them (at least, that's what I am working toward right now). I have heaps of ideas in my head...offering the kits in more than one colourway, including binding yardage, even using fat quarter (or other pre-cuts) packs for scrappy looks....    If you already have a stash like mine, you may not want to order for a specific quilt. But, I would love to make it available for you. If you can think of any other way I can make this easier for you, please please please let me know. New Beginnings, Fun Times...

I am so happy to introduce you to our own blog. This is where all new things will come out and we can have a central place to always go back to. I will keep our "history" here and I can't wait to fill the pages with our fun and our story as we go!
