Mystery Quilts Anonymous

As I sit here eating a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, I am breathing a sigh of happiness and peace! We are a couple days past Christmas in a calm before the storm of a new year and children and grandchildren coming home. We are so looking forward to having them, but enjoying our little bit of calm right now. 

Alongside my coffee and pnbutter cups is my agenda for the week. I just keep adding things to it, but it seems to help to get everything non-quilty completed. I am planning 2020 with retreats, mysteries, quilt alongs, block of the months.....   I can't wait to spend 2020 and following years with you!

 

Starting mid January, we will be starting a BOM to increase our skills. For this, you should be able to use scraps, fat quarter bundles, or yardage, but it will not be a "traditional" quilt. It will be more like a sampler, but will still have the continuity of one of my patterns. It has been a challenge to design (and be cohesive), but I think we are about there...just to place these beautiful blocks.

 

We will be carrying on with our mysteries, and adding a quilt along or two in the mix. A quilt along is different in that you know in advance what we are making, we are just all sewing at the same time. You will get to see a bit more of my process and crazy brain this way! You can sew as much or as little as you wish, I am here to inspire you to sew and quilt. I look forward to every minute!

Mystery Quilts Anonymous With all the feedback from yesterday's blog, I just wanted to give you a bit more info to ponder and think on. Firstly, I need to be honest, since our beginning I have given this group and it's members 1,000 percent of myself and my designs. I make NO money off the patterns and time spent. I want to keep the patterns free. I love that so many can make them and love them. I feel we have so much talent out there and I love tapping into that talent and providing patterns you love. I have been trying to think of other ways to make a little money for my "work". Mystery Quilts Anonymous   I have been in contact with a number of fabric manufacturers and I wanted your opinion on something... I am wondering if you think I should offer kits for our mysteries. If I offered something like that, would you purchase the kit or would you order your own fabrics? I would organise the kit with the manufacturer and you would order direct from them (at least, that's what I am working toward right now). I have heaps of ideas in my head...offering the kits in more than one colourway, including binding yardage, even using fat quarter (or other pre-cuts) packs for scrappy looks....    If you already have a stash like mine, you may not want to order for a specific quilt. But, I would love to make it available for you. If you can think of any other way I can make this easier for you, please please please let me know. New Beginnings, Fun Times...

I am so happy to introduce you to our own blog. This is where all new things will come out and we can have a central place to always go back to. I will keep our "history" here and I can't wait to fill the pages with our fun and our story as we go!
