Today while I was creating a video for you (for Queen of Diamonds), all I could hear in the background was my sweet dog snoring. I think I was boring her! I love that my fur babies love to be with me, but it's a bit distracting when they SNORE!!! I usually am in my sewing room about 6-8 hours a day. This week, I haven't been able to be in here so much and I am going through withdrawal! I think tomorrow (today when this posts) I will just sit and sew ALL DAY! My sanity certainly needs it. Zoey loves posing for her head shots! I just love this old girl. What a sweetie!



Been catching up on laundry after being away for a few days... sheets from guests needed washing.... a window needed replacing (after hubby broke into our home!! - that's a whole different story!)... and fur babies needed some loving. Now that everything is caught up on..I can finally play in here for a while!

    I haven't been able to keep up lately because I have been planning to move to a bigger apartment where I will have more space for my sewing paraphernalia. I am so excited as I learned today I can pick up the keys next Tuesday! That means moving on Wednesday and Thursday and my kids will be here to help me! I just cannot wait to get my sewing room back up and into operation! Looking forward to another wonderful year of quilting with you. Hugs, Daylene

Mystery Quilts Anonymous   I have been in contact with a number of fabric manufacturers and I wanted your opinion on something... I am wondering if you think I should offer kits for our mysteries. If I offered something like that, would you purchase the kit or would you order your own fabrics? I would organise the kit with the manufacturer and you would order direct from them (at least, that's what I am working toward right now). I have heaps of ideas in my head...offering the kits in more than one colourway, including binding yardage, even using fat quarter (or other pre-cuts) packs for scrappy looks....    If you already have a stash like mine, you may not want to order for a specific quilt. But, I would love to make it available for you. If you can think of any other way I can make this easier for you, please please please let me know. I have a stash that will outlive me, so I am sharing mine with my granddaughters (and those grandsons that want to sew)...

Scraps...

  Mystery Quilts Anonymous     I am very interested in how you store your scraps...if you use them and the sizes you cut your larger scraps down to. I keep a bin of crumbs, a bin of anything under a fat quarter, plastic shoe boxes with my 2-1/2" strips and squares by colour, and that doesn't include the fabrics between a quarter yard and one yard.  I am very keen to hear what you do. I need help organising this large selection of scraps! I make every quilt that I put on our Facebook page and others as well....I have SO MANY SCRAPS! Show me pics PLEASE!  I need help!! Deb

Mystery Quilts Anonymous With all the feedback from yesterday's blog, I just wanted to give you a bit more info to ponder and think on. Firstly, I need to be honest, since our beginning I have given this group and it's members 1,000 percent of myself and my designs. I make NO money off the patterns and time spent. I want to keep the patterns free. I love that so many can make them and love them. I feel we have so much talent out there and I love tapping into that talent and providing patterns you love. I have been trying to think of other ways to make a little money for my "work". SO, I am thinking I will start a "real" blog and use the advertising as a source of income so the patterns and our facebook page remain free. If you have thoughts concerning any or all of this, PLEASE make contact.
