It is just about two weeks until Christmas and I am sitting here just thinking about all I have had the opportunity to do this year. I have been so blessed to meet a few of you face to face and go to a few fabric stores in the US. Boy was that an eye opener! (the fabric stores not meeting some of you!!)


We are nearly 5,000 strong and our blog (started in Jan 2019) has been re-born into a fun thing for me to keep up with you and share a bit about myself, my family, and my fur babies. We have had AN AMAZING YEAR, going strong and growing every day. Our group page was created on 4 July 2018...I can't believe in 17 months, we have blown all my expectations out of the water. I am so happy with our group and find comfort, peace, and joy everyday. We even have a YouTube channel now and I'm sharing videos with you on a regular basis. You all make what I do fun and worth every broken pencil lead!


Our group and everything about it is my happy place (other than being with my children and grandchildren). I can honestly say what we have as a group is very special and I want to take the time to thank each of you for your support, encouragement, and fun you have provided. I look forward to many more years of quilting fun.

Mystery Quilts Anonymous   I have been in contact with a number of fabric manufacturers and I wanted your opinion on something... I am wondering if you think I should offer kits for our mysteries. If I offered something like that, would you purchase the kit or would you order your own fabrics? I would organise the kit with the manufacturer and you would order direct from them (at least, that's what I am working toward right now). I have heaps of ideas in my head...offering the kits in more than one colourway, including binding yardage, even using fat quarter (or other pre-cuts) packs for scrappy looks....    If you already have a stash like mine, you may not want to order for a specific quilt. But, I would love to make it available for you. If you can think of any other way I can make this easier for you, please please please let me know. I have a stash that will outlive me, so I am sharing mine with my granddaughters (and those grandsons that want to sew)...

Scraps...

  Mystery Quilts Anonymous     I am very interested in how you store your scraps...if you use them and the sizes you cut your larger scraps down to. I keep a bin of crumbs, a bin of anything under a fat quarter, plastic shoe boxes with my 2-1/2" strips and squares by colour, and that doesn't include the fabrics between a quarter yard and one yard.  I am very keen to hear what you do. I need help organising this large selection of scraps! I make every quilt that I put on our Facebook page and others as well....I have SO MANY SCRAPS! Show me pics PLEASE!  I need help!! Deb

Mystery Quilts Anonymous With all the feedback from yesterday's blog, I just wanted to give you a bit more info to ponder and think on. Firstly, I need to be honest, since our beginning I have given this group and it's members 1,000 percent of myself and my designs. I make NO money off the patterns and time spent. I want to keep the patterns free. I love that so many can make them and love them. I feel we have so much talent out there and I love tapping into that talent and providing patterns you love. I have been trying to think of other ways to make a little money for my "work". SO, I am thinking I will start a "real" blog and use the advertising as a source of income so the patterns and our facebook page remain free. If you have thoughts concerning any or all of this, PLEASE make contact.
